Constitution 24th November 1999
Aims
1. To promote the sport of cycling for members who will normally be resident in or visitors to the Bicester area.
2. To provide a base club for members who wish to enter organised cycling events.
3. To provide a focal point for the distribution of information and services concerning cycling to its members.
Rules
1. After its initial adoption, the constitution may only be modified at an Annual General Meeting or an Extraordinary General Meeting conducted after the proposed changes and the time of the meeting have been notified to all members for a period of 30 days.
2. The above changes may be adopted by a simple majority vote of members.
3. Members are defined as persons 16 years of age who have paid the annual subscription.
4. Members will appoint a committee from themselves to oversee their wishes regarding the day-to-day running of the club. It will be appointed at the AGM on a simple majority vote of members and will consist of Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and a number of committee members ( 1 per 20 members) up to a maximum of 6.
5. The committee will base decisions on simple majority voting and in the event of a tie the Chair will have an additional vote.
6. All voting procedures will have a proxy voting facility.
7. Junior members will be allowed at the discretion of the committee.
8. The committee have the right to refuse or rescind any membership with immediate effect.
9. The club will be run on a "not for profit" basis.
10. All work for the club by the committee and members is done on a voluntary basis where essential expenses only are reinbursed.
Termination
1. In the event that the club becomes unviable an EGM will donate the remaining assets to a suitable cycling organisation or charity. The aformentioned organisation or charity must have no direct connection with any of the remaining or previous members.
